Missing the warmth of summer? Weighed down by the dark evenings? Feeling overwhelmed by the demands of everyday?
Come for a session of going slow, breathing deep and learning new skills and recipes for self care.
Sow Grateful are teaming up with herbalist Michelle Wooderson of Starlyng Apothecary for this immersive learning workshop.
We will commence with a mindful foraging walk around the fields and new native woodland learning about the folklore whilst harvesting for ingredients to bring back to the Wild Shed. Michelle will then guide us through the steps to brew our own rosehip oxymel and infused honey with honey fresh from the Sow Grateful beehives.
While those recipes are stewing, Andy will take us on a guided tour of the flower field, pointing out some of the techniques and tips they have used to produce their organically grown seasonal blooms. There will then be a chance to cut your own selection of flowers and arrange them to take home and bring the beauty of nature into your home.
We will then return to the Wild Shed to finish our homemade remedies and bottle them to take home along with a recipe worksheet for creating for years to come.
Michelle Wooderson is a community herbalist, forage-walk facilitator, botanical folk musician, writer and music therapist based in Belfast. Through Starlyng Apothecary, she brings together plants, music, folklore and creativity through seasonal workshops, foraging walks and gatherings.
She is the creator of A Little Herbal Hymnal, an immersive evening of botanical songs, herbal lore, wild foods and gentle ritual, and Herb Church, which offers a more intimate celebration of wild plants, traditional medicine-making and the natural world. Her work is rooted in helping people slow down, reconnect with nature and rediscover a sense of belonging to the living world.
