Join Andy and Aisling of Sow Grateful flower farm for a day of practical learning about all things flowers where you will learn about planning, propagating, growing, harvesting and arranging artisanal seasonal cut flowers.
Friday 1 October 2026 10am - 2pm
DISCOVER
Learn how the team grow artisan seasonal cut flowers which are sought after by local designers and florists. Observe the pollinators and diverse flora and fauna on their 10-acre flower farm site and nature haven.
EXPLORE
On arrival you be guided on a nature walk through the native woodland. Returning to the flower field you will be given a tour of the flowers in bloom this season, including growing, cutting and conditioning techniques. You will then be warmed by a cup of homemade flower farm herbal tea cut fresh, along with seasonal fruit from the farm.
EXPERIENCE
Learn about nature-friendly gardening and farming and about different plants for cutting, when to sow, how to take cuttings and the benefits of saving your own seed. Sow some seeds for next years plants using clever space-efficient techniques propagating plants without a greenhouse and have a go at planning your cut flower garden for 2027! The team will of course be on hand for all your gardening questions!
LUNCH
A light seasonal lunch will be provided by Source Grow using produce grown on the farm along with produce from other local growers.
CREATE
You will then be given a secateurs to cut your own blooms out in the flower field. Return to the 'Wild Shed' where a vase will be waiting for you to mindfully arrange your freshly cut flowers. A demo and on-hand instruction will be provided but you will also be encouraged to find your own unique creative flair!
